St Brigids Cross

St. Brigid's Cross is a woven cross that is a symbol of Ireland and is associated with the Celtic goddess Brigid. The cross is woven from rushes or straw and is said to protect homes from evil, fire, and hunger.
The cross is traditionally displayed above the main door of a house.
It was believed that the cross would protect the home and its inhabitants from harm, evil spirits, fire, and other dangers.
It was also believed to bless the cattle and thrashing.
